Cordyceps a.k.a. Chinese Caterpillar (Cordyceps sinensis) is one of the most valued mushrooms in TCM. The history of its use in China exceeds 1000 years. In the past it was considered an aphrodisiac. Today, it is an increasingly popular food supplement even here in Europe. Here its use has been promoted mainly by top athletes. Many of them, following the example of their Chinese rivals, use cordyceps frequently and regularly.
Where does Nupreme Cordyceps come from?
It may be strange, but this information is not available from the usual distributors. But we at Nuprem can tell you that our Cordyceps comes from the northwestern Chinese province of Jiāngsū. Cordyceps was grown in the Chinese province of Jiāngsū. To be absolutely sure of its quality, it has been tested in the Czech Republic for the presence of microorganisms and heavy metals. We inspect every batch of imported raw material. Cordyceps (Chinese caterpillar) is one of the pillars of TCM. It is an alien fungus that grows through the caterpillar (butterfly larva), creating a unique symbiotic organism composed of fungus and insect. It is a very common and popular supplement for top athletes.
How is it processed?
- The cordyceps fruits undergo fermentation, which makes Cordyceps NUPREME a high-quality product with an ideal ratio of active ingredients: 30 % polysaccharides, 18,5 % mannitol, 0,6 % adenosine. Only mycelium that is artificially cultured in nutrient solution is processed for the extract. As far as extraction is concerned, our grower and processor uses double extraction with hot water and alcohol.
- Although cordyceps is very popular and widespread, its taste is not so... great. The powder in the capsules has a naturally bitter taste with a slightly sweetish aftertaste. But the good news is that you can add the powder to smoothies, coffee, milk, hot chocolate or juice. You will not only fool the rebellious adult who has "his opinion" about these novelties, but also the children. Remember, however, that this is a dietary supplement, so do not give to children under 3 years of age.

- We regularly check our products and perform independent laboratory analyses in Czech accredited laboratories. We carry out heavy metal and microbiological analyses on every batch of all raw materials that we import from third world, i.e. non-EU countries.
How to use?
Cordyceps should be taken 3 weeks a month and skipped 1 week, or 5 days a week and 2 days off, preferably 20 minutes before meals, washed down with still water or tea. Cordyceps is conveniently supplemented with vitamin C to support its effects and absorption.
- Adults: 2-3 capsules per day.
- Children: 1 capsule per day.
- Do not take cordyceps when you are going through an acute illness (e.g. flu, tonsillitis, bronchitis, etc. ), have an allergy to mushrooms or are taking medication to reduce blood clotting (e.g. Warfarin). If you have any doubts, see your doctor.
