A single-component hygienic topcoat designed to protect against mild chemical exposure, frequent cleaning, damp environments, and intermittent high humidity. This topcoat is suitable for application on mineral substrates primed with 8399, or well-prepared existing substrates. It resists mild chemical exposure, chemical cleaning, and varying levels of humidity. 8300 is classified as class 1 surface spread of flame according to BS 476: Part 7: 1987.

Practical coverage:
Practical coverage depends on many factors such as porosity, substrate roughness, and material losses during application.
Surface preparation:
New concrete, plaster, or brick surfaces should cure and dry for at least 30 days before applying 8300. Remove grease, oil, and all other surface contaminants by alkaline or high-pressure (steam) cleaning. Wash the surface with plenty of fresh, warm water or high-pressure (steam) cleaning to remove all residues of contamination and ND14 or FK111 cleaning agents. Lightly abrade the surface. Remove loose, old coatings. The surface must be clean and dry during application.
Instructions for use:
Stir thoroughly before application to ensure the coating is completely homogenous. Air, substrate, and coating temperature must be between -10°C and 35°C with a relative humidity below 85%. Substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above dew point. Below 0°C, the surface must be ice-free. Use brushes with a synthetic/natural bristle blend. Thinning: -10 to 5°C: 10–15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633. > 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Application and thinning (roller):
Use 8–12mm polyamide rollers. Roller application may require 2 coats to achieve the recommended film thickness. Thinning: -10 to 5°C: 10–15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633. > 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Application and thinning (airless):
High-pressure and electrostatic airless equipment. Nozzle size: 0.011–0.017 inches. Pressure: 150–200 bar. Low temperatures can affect atomisation properties. Thinning: -10 to 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160. > 5°C: up to 15% volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Application and thinning (air spray):
Cup gun, pressure pot. Nozzle: 1.2–1.8mm. Pressure: 2–4 bar. Thinning: -10 to 5°C: up to 10% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160. > 5°C: 10–15% by volume RUST-OLEUM Thinner 633.
Cleaning equipment and spills:
Use RUST-OLEUM Thinner 160.
Notes:
Maximum dry film thickness per coat: 60µm dry, corresponding to 145µm wet. Direct contact with oils and greases can soften the coating surface. Product safety data: 458g/L, VOC of mixture: 499g/L, VOC category: A/i VOC, limit: 500g/L, Class: A+, Flash point: 40°C
Safety note:
Read the safety data sheet and safety information on the packaging.
Shelf life:
5 years from date of manufacture in unopened containers when stored in dry, well-ventilated areas, away from direct sunlight at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C.
