Image parameters and optics
At the heart of the optical system is a 1/1.8" sensor with an 8MP resolution, complemented by a fixed lens with a single sensor. The device captures video at 30 FPS, which contributes to smooth, tear-free motion in the recordings. Video compression is handled by the H.264 standard, which effectively reduces data storage requirements and saves bandwidth during transmission. The horizontal viewing angle is 134° and the vertical angle is 56.7°, allowing the camera to cover a wide area without blind spots.
Night mode
In low-light conditions and complete darkness, the camera automatically activates its infrared night mode. The built-in IR LED illuminator, together with an infrared filter, provides a high-contrast black and white image. The infrared illuminator reliably renders details at a distance of up to 30m from the lens. This mechanism provides continuous surveillance of the perimeter without the need to install additional external floodlights.
Intelligent detection and image analysis
The integrated processor with artificial intelligence analyses the captured scene in real-time. The system detects motion, people, vehicles, and animals, and offers advanced features like Face Recognition and License Plate Recognition. Users can set selected activity zones to eliminate false alarms caused, for example, by trees moving in the wind. The built-in microphone is used to capture clear audio recordings directly from the monitored location.
Construction and durability
The aluminium alloy and polycarbonate construction meets the IP66 rating, which protects the internal electronics from splashing water and dust. The device resists physical damage according to the IK04 standard and operates in a temperature range of -20°C to 50°C. The flexible ball-joint mount makes it easy to aim precisely at the monitored area when mounting on a wall, ceiling, or pole. Power is supplied exclusively via an Ethernet cable using the PoE standard, which simplifies wiring to a single cable.
Connectivity and application options
Connectivity is provided by a single RJ-45 Ethernet port with a speed of 10/100 MbE, which is used for both data transfer and power. The device is managed in the UniFi Protect Suite app, which is fully compatible with Android and iOS operating systems. Integration into a smart home via Home Assistant expands the possibilities for automation and connection with other systems. All settings and recording management are done in a localised interface that supports English, German, and French.
