Amino acid L-Lysine from Viridian Nutrition in organic and fermented form. 1 capsule contains 500 mg of L-lysine. It is an essential amino acid, so the human body cannot synthesize it and it must be supplied by food. Its properties are related to carbohydrate and fat metabolism, protein synthesis, but also to heart health, mental fitness and cold sores. L-lysine is contained in the supplement in free form, so it does not require digestion and is quickly absorbed into the body. Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins everywhere in the body. They are classified as either essential or non-essential. L-Lysine is found to a large extent in muscle tissue. It is also a precursor of L-carnitine and has an effect on carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
