The Rugged series of external drives are available in 4 extra-large capacities. The smallest variant is 1TB, medium is 2TB, larger is 4TB and the largest variant is 5TB. Despite the large 2TB capacity, the disk size is relatively small.

2-Year Warranty and Free Data Recovery Service

The Rescue Data Recovery service provides a recovery of lost data due to disk failures, virus attacks, software problems, or any other issues that would cause data to be lost. The customer is entitled to one free data recovery attempt for the duration of the service. However, LaCie does not guarantee that the lost data can be restored in all cases. The Rescue Data Recovery service is linked to the internal disk contained in the LaCie disk. Renewed data will then be stored by Seagate on a special storage device or cloud storage where it is available to the customer for 60 days. More information here.
