Gump

A heart-wrenching story from the eyes of a stray dog named Gump, who taught people how to live.

A fresh, poetic and at times painful story told from the eyes of a stray dog, Gump. It’s a story about a journey full of obstacles and traps, about a love so strong it can reach beyond the rainbow bridge, about a dog's unwavering devotion to lay down its life for its master, about a hope that not even the strongest chain can restrain, and also about the animal wisdom that opens our human eyes.

Gump brings a raw and authentic story, built on the real experiences of a man who has dedicated his entire life to rescuing abused dogs, exposing puppy farms and righting the wrongs that people inflict on man's best friend in a heartless pursuit of money.

This is a book without embellishments or Hollywood softening. It's as if we are looking into the head of the stray dog Gump and seeing everything he has been through, through his eyes. The author has encountered harrowing dog fates and their experiences, which are sometimes beyond comprehension. With this book, he wants to open people's eyes and show them that each of us can help if we start noticing what is happening around us and stop relying on someone else to fix the situation. Once we understand what a dog's soul can offer us, our lives can become much richer.

The book is complemented by beautiful watercolour illustrations by Weronika Gray and photographs of the people and dogs that inspired the author in Gump's story.
