The FUJINON XF 18mm F/1.4 is a high-end reportage lens offering excellent optical quality, fast autofocus and resistance to adverse weather conditions. This is a lens with a converted focal length (35mm equivalent) of 27mm and a maximum aperture of F1.4. The lens continues the tradition of compact portable lenses for the Fujifilm X mirrorless system. The FUJINON XF18mm F/1.4 wide-angle lens is suitable for documentary, Travel, landscaping, natural, architectural photography and even for astrophotography.

Lightweight and compact lens with excellent optical quality for professionals

In keeping with the X Series philosophy of creating lightweight and compact devices for capturing the highest quality images, the XF 18mm F/1.4 delivers incredible optical quality without being large or heavy. Compared to other lenses with a similar angle of view and aperture, the XF 18mm F/1.4's strengths make it a clear choice for many professionals for years to come. The sharpening group of six members moves together during sharpening. This reduces aberration fluctuation, in which a constantly changing or random variation of the optical defect occurs in the optical system, e.g. by the vibration of the system. The result is consistently high image sharpness at any position of the focus group (so there is no difference in lens sharpness when focusing at 20cm and at infinity).

Excellent optical design and fast focusing

The entire lens is composed of 15 elements in 9 groups, including three aspherical elements and one ED element, to minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations. Produces beautifully sharp photos from corner to corner with little to no distortion at the edges. A linear motor ensures quiet, smooth and fast movement of the focusing elements. The AF can focus sensitively and accurately at a distance of 20 cm in just 0.04 seconds. The internal design also allows smooth manual focus control.

Optical quality and durability of the Fujifilm XF 18mm F1.4

All optical elements in the lens have a Super EBC coating that reduces flare for even better contrast and colour fidelity. The rounded nine-lamel aperture contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality, making the main subject stand out easily. The XF 18mm F1.4 is equipped with an aperture ring lock in the A position, which prevents the aperture ring from being inadvertently rotated. A total of eight durable seals provide protection against dust, moisture and temperatures down to -10°C.
